    1. With summer here, I rush through my posts without editing but yes, it was spectacular – open all the way to the top, where there are no more views, but you’re in the heart of a fir forest. I was glad they made it so we could all smell those trees 🙂

  2. I grew up with Sunday family picnics on Mount Rogers and visits to the ponies. Your photos and the Covington epigraph so clearly evoke what’s amazing about that part of the world.

  4. I didn’t realize I had stopped breathing while looking at these grogeaous images until I heard myself exhale. Breathtaking in the trueset sense. Please tuck me in your rucksack on your next hike.
