White girl dancing

  1. Andrea, don’t know Albert Murray. But want to now after reading your review. His words jump! I think this was the kind of language Kerouac was after in On The Road and some of his other books.

    1. You’re right, Kurt, Kerouac wanted his words to have a jazz cadence. To wit, his reading of “Visions of Cody” on the Steve Allen Show ( with Steve playing piano accompaniment )…”Go on boy, go thou across the ground…go groan, go moan, go groan for man…go groan, alone…go groan, go moan, go roll your bones…alone ! Go thou and be small in my sight ! Go thou and be my nudest seed in the pod…Go thou, go thou, die hence…and this world report you well and truely !”

      1. I may have to do a road trip literary adventure at some point. There are lots of American novels I want to read that aren’t set in a specific state but are about being on the road, On the Road being one of them.
