My husband brought home kittens yesterday — four month old sisters — without telling our children. The kids came home from school to find kitties in the rec room.
Our house is now the happiest place on earth.
Our children forgot about screen time. Nothing matters but these little cats. I can’t stop smiling for all the joy these two have generated in our home.
I’ll be honest. Much of the joy is my own. I’ve been wanting kittens for as long as our kids have, and now that we are finally in our own home, my husband made it happen. Last night we ate pizza and watched Monty Python while kittens played with ribbons and a jingle bell ball. Before bed, when they had gotten comfortable with us, one of them climbed on my chest… and purred.
Happiest. Mom. Ever.

aww. I share your excitement. when i brought my two home the home was complete. They are 2yrs old now and like my second babies, they just mault alot everywhere and they are long haired black cats!

Sure! “Rec room” is short for recreation room, the room where our TV, the board games, and the computer/electronic games are.

How wonderful for your children! You too, of course. Kittens are a bit easier when you work all day and two of them keep each other company.. I can feel the smiles from here.

Awww … made me want to go out and adopt two kitties or cats.
These 2 darling remind me of the 2 sisters we adopted a year ago. They had the same colorings but were Hemmingway cats. We adopted them from a no-kill shelter.
Unfortunately, we tragically lost them to a wild bobcat. Our hearts are still mourning but your post reminded me of the many that are out there in need of a home.
