Parenting is weird

  1. This really resonates with me. Usually shortly after the whirlwind dies down after one of our kids birthday parties, we would tell ourselves “25% done!”. We are now over 50%, and the challenges don’t stop, they just change. We often wonder the same exact question about our children, how they are so different. Yesterday our daughter was mad because she left for school “late” at 7:15. She likes to leave at 7:00. After nagging and nagging, our son missed the 7:29 bus, but did make it to school before 8:00. Oh yeah, they go to the same school! I thought they would go to and from school together, but they don’t like that.

I definitely want our kids to go away to college. I think it is a really great experience. But I will also miss them.
