We threw the windows open yesterday. I wore lotion with sunscreen. On my lunch break, I sat in the sun in the back garden and read from Drinking Coffee Elsewhere by ZZ Packer. I listened to bumblebees buzz.
I worked from underneath the dogwood tree. I wore short-sleeves and a summer skirt.
After I retreated inside for afternoon coffee, and after I sat inside where the house was still cool after months of winter, I went out around 4pm to get the mail. My feet were bare. When I stepped onto the driveway, I felt its sun-drenched warmth, and I melted. I soaked it in, pulled the stored sunlight up through my soles, and savored every delicious step.
I can feel the warmth from your words. Lovely description.
