  1. Yum! Strawberry rhubarb is one of my favorites too. What kind of thickener did you use? I have been using Tapioca starch lately, and I am pretty happy with the results. The cut-outs do look really cool. I did that for the first time last year with a pumpkin pie. I baked them separately on a cookie sheet, and then added them to the pie after baking. I think with a pumpkin pie they would otherwise sink into the custard.
